Aren't we all the same country?

If I live in the United States, why should my health care options here in Georgia be poorer than those of someone living in Massachusetts?
Why should I have less access to resources that would improve my health?

Are some matters, including health care, too important to be left to the states? Social Security and Medicare are national programs that function across state lines (except for Medicare Part D, the dreaded drug benefit, which is another story). One reason may be that members of the Greatest Generation have been very effective lobbyists.

Other age cohorts, meanwhile struggle with inequitied in private health insurance, Medicaid and S-Chip. Hardly seems right, does it?
